I'm obviously fine to concede to whoever. But if people are still enjoying the game, feel free to keep playing, I'm just realising I'm going to have to put some work into the coming defence

How far from railroad are they? Their stack in our territory must be costing a fair whack.

They just picked up Steam Power and have about 850 gold in the bank. I don't have a clue what means in research time, though.

A little snippet - Trolls pillaged Occam back to the stone age so we killed fifteen of their cavalry for a cost of three cannons and four pikes:

And we took back a city. May get another one next turn...

Trolls' economy is hurting: I doubt they're running 0% though, since the Railroad finishing time is so high... we'll see.

Trolls are making 303 GPT at 0% - will obviously go higher once they move the stack back into their lands. I still say we take the tie while we're ahead.
Researching Cavalry reminds me of Superiority: "It was galling to realize that if we had only continued building without seeking new weapons, we would have been in a far more advantageous position."

I'm sure I recognize that quote in the tech thread - but what is it?
Let's see how far they get through railroad next turn. With you guys in the north and us in the west and on the east coast they have to keep their armies well spread, perhaps enough that we can take a few cities? Really we're hoping for (another) tactical slip-up from them, I hope one of you guys can provoke that!

Encounter in the Dawn. Here's the front: I'm going to ask Q if I can move troops through his Open Borders land for a surprise strike. I think this is the right move, I have a temporary advantage in the area, so I should try to bring it to bear.

If I remember right the Statue of Zeus is in Horse's Neck, so if you're making a surprise raid (and Q is okay with you using his roads) that would a great city to raze. I'll try and figure out when various bits of the Troll stack can reach those cities the next time I'm logged in.
What is your plan if you can't go through Q?

"I'd strongly prefer it if you didn't, but I have no deals with anyone on that matter, so you can if you want to." -Qgqqqqq
I'm still wondering if invading is the best move, since I can't keep much of this land...

It's gotta be the best move, as it's the only move that can influence the outcome of the game - even if you just raze the cities, that still helps.

Current plan: move most of my forces towards Chili Passion and Painkiller, then move on Ramune. There isn't time to move on Horse and Elephant.

The latest and greatest intel: (Ignore that Statue of Liberty.) Harry, the Trollish navy is coming your way: Note that Trolls are 4 turns to Railroad. I lost sight of the doomstack by Katana; I think that they're rushing north. Given how close Trolls are to Railroad, I think the best move is to move in, burn a couple of cities, then retreat back into my territory. Yes, Trolls can just sit a stack of units underneath a Machine Gun or two on flat land and bombard me to bits... which is why I think we should take the truce. This war is unwinnable, and I don't really believe in glory.
